ABOUT US
God's Power Orphans and Widows Organisation was created by Kasaale Jamiru Peter. Being an orphan himself, and seeing the struggle many children face in Uganda, he created this organisation so he could help all those children in having a better life.
OUR STORY
I grew up alone and in different families. I lost my parents when I was 2 years old. I was adopted by merciful people, a pastor and his wife. When he passed away, his wife kicked me out. After struggling to find shelter and food, I was eventually adopted by a wonderful family. I understand the struggles an orphan faces. What got me involved in caring for orphans was witnessing 3 children who lost both their parents in a car accident and were left to fend for themselves in there apartment, the oldest being 11 years old. A horrific event occurred to her while trying to find food for her siblings. She was raped by an older man. She survived, but obtained much damage, physically and emotionally. He was not even arrested. I could not let this man get away with this. I sued him in court and he was arrested for and sentenced to 23 years. I decided to rent the house and requested the authority to give me power to start taking care of these children. I now have 15 children I take care of by providing a sense of family, food, shelter and giving them hope through Jesus Christ.
OUR MISSION
To change the lives of Ugandan orphans. Our goal is to one day have our own land, to no longer rent. From this, to grow our own crops and become more self sustaining and not so reliant on donations. We would like all the children to get an education, and have the opportunity to become anything they want to be.
